Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season presents a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
