The accused was taken into custody after eight children and a grown-up experienced illness at the facility in July.
The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a series of 17 offences when he was present at the courthouse on recently.
Nevertheless, he refused to admit one of the sexual offences he was facing, which was involving a young boy.
The defendant was held in detention ahead of a further hearing on November 28th.
'Candy game'
The prosecutor, handling the case, outlined Ruben's offending to the court.
She said his those affected were under-privileged children who were attending a summer program which he ran.
Ruben engaged in a "treat game" with the children, the prosecutor explained, in which he would enter the sleeping quarters when they were preparing to sleep and tell them to eat sweets "rapidly".
She stated to the judge Ruben had conducted this practice with the young males "over an extended period", and youngsters had previously become sick the following morning.
She explained the defendant had been capable of justifying this repeatedly as the children being "overstimulated by activities", until his stepchild had suspicions in July 2025.
Mrs Prior KC stated further: "Recently" his stepson had worries about the situation, for good reason.
"They chose" to examine in the man's possessions."
Mrs Prior KC stated objects including baby oil, petroleum jelly and injection devices were discovered, and his stepchild contacted the law enforcement about his worries.
She said Ruben went on to engage in the "treat game" with six children that night - that Saturday - and they were everyone unwell the following morning.
"Authorities" had not responded by that stage," she continued.
The regulatory agency, the investigative body, previously told that it was reviewing Leicestershire Police's handling of the incident.
The legal representative stated the children were struggling to walk due to being ill, so Ruben's stepson notified the authorities a second time.
She explained Ruben then played the "candy game" in a space of five minors.
