Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a challenging season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from March of that year.
Victory also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children together, so to secure a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was finished.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.
The opponent rescued four early break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he secured victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
